For reasons of safety and responsibility, we inform you that there is no adult supervision. before 8.40 a.m.<\/strong>.<\/p>

The parent must stay with the child<\/strong>, in the car,<\/strong> until 8.40 a.m. if they choose to drop their child off at school in the morning.<\/p>

Parents driving their children to school, either in the morning or for appointments, can drop them off at the main school entrance, the north entrance.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

At CSDC des Aurores bor\u00e9ales, school transportation is offered free of charge to all eligible students. Our goal is to provide safe, efficient, quality transportation at a cost the Board can afford.<\/p>

If your child is absent for a medical appointment or any other valid reason, you must leave a message for the secretary<\/strong> and not with the class teacher.<\/p>

This program is designed to confirm the safety of students in the event of unexplained absences.<\/p>\n

Students' attendance is checked twice during the day: on arrival at 9:00 a.m. and after lunch at 1:30 p.m. If the school has not been notified of a particular absence, we will contact you to verify and confirm the absence.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Compulsory schooling<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0Pupils who have reached the age of 6 must attend school until the age of 18, or until they graduate. Under the compulsory schooling rule, pupils are admitted to 1re<\/sup>\u00a0year in September of any school year, provided they have reached the age of six (6) by December 31 of the same calendar year. If a person under the age of compulsory schooling is enrolled in an elementary school, the present applies during the period for which he or she is enrolled, as if he or she had reached the age of compulsory schooling.<\/p>

School staff responsibilities<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong>The school maintains a daily register of all students' absences and reasons for absence through Aspen. According to\u00a0B009-P School attendance<\/em><\/a>For each absence, there is communication between the school and the home. Where applicable, original supporting documentation from the physician must be retained for two years in the student's Ontario Student Record (OSR). On a regular basis, the principal or designate reviews student attendance data in Aspen. Together with school staff, the principal takes a critical look at each student to identify those at risk. Once recurrent absences have been identified, the next steps are documented using the\u00a0B009-F1 Management of absences or late arrivals\u00a0<\/em>and stored in the student's DSO.<\/p>

Prolonged absences<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

If you anticipate that your child will be absent for an extended period of time (e.g., travel, family emergencies, medical absences), you must inform the school so that the administration can offer a school exemption.\u00a0<\/p>

Frequent absences or lateness : <\/u><\/strong><\/p>

Follow-ups will be carried out according to the number of absences, in compliance with Board policy and school procedures.\u00a0<\/p>

From 5 to 10 days of late arrivals or accumulated absences, we can trigger the process set out in the policy, which may include :<\/p>

  1. an initial communication from the school,<\/li>
  2. a phone call from management,<\/li>
  3. a meeting between parents and the school.<\/li><\/ol>

    If the concern persists, the attendance advisor can get involved.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
